Action Day "Eating Disorders Know No Weight"

As part of the action day, I will be giving my book presentation "Understanding and Helping Eating Disorders", which includes an open discussion round. First, I will introduce the contents, the genesis, and the motivations behind my book. I will highlight current topics such as the competition among those affected, the role of clinics and social media, and how relatives, caregivers, and professionals can support those affected.

In cooperation with queerKAstle and the photo project "Your Body Is Enough", and with financial support from AOK Mittlerer Oberrhein and the Dr. Hans and Therese Krille Foundation, BESS is organizing an action day to promote body acceptance and raise awareness of eating disorders. The action day offers a diverse program with lectures, workshops, a panel talk, and opportunities for exchange.

Understanding and Helping with Eating Disorders – Lecture with Open Discussion

As part of the Mental Health Week, under the motto "Together instead of side-by-side – for a society where every psyche counts", I will be giving a lecture on eating disorders in cooperation with ApK – Landesverband Berlin e.V. (Relatives of Mentally Ill People), followed by an open question and discussion round.

In my lecture, I will discuss the content, genesis, and motivations behind my advisory book "Normalgewicht" (Normal Weight). I will shed light on current topics such as the competitive struggle among those affected, the role of clinics and social media, and how relatives can support affected individuals. The lecture will last approximately 45 minutes.
