Normal weight on stage – my debut presentation at the Media Design Showcase 2024

The Media Design Exhibition – it attracts hundreds of visitors every year. It's the event of the year: Graduates of DHBW Ravensburg present their bachelor's theses. In 2024, I was one of the 70 graduates and had the opportunity to exhibit my book.

But that's not all: I also gave my first book presentation. A very significant moment for me. Because I didn't just talk about the design of my book, but also about the background, the story behind it, and my personal connection to it. Above all, I talked about why my book is so important and what purpose it serves.

I was incredibly nervous because I didn't know what kind of reactions to expect. It's a very personal topic, and I knew I was making myself vulnerable. But my worries were unfounded: the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. I received so much support, from those affected and also from parents who confided in me.

These two days gave me countless valuable conversations and showed me: My studies may be over – but my journey to a "normal weight" has only just begun! The lecture in Ravensburg was just the first of many. Because only when we talk about eating disorders and raise awareness can those affected get help in time.
